50th Celebration

The Humble Museum will be celebrating its 50th Anniversary on Saturday, September 12, 2006, as part of the City of Humble's Founder's Day celebration, 10 am - 4 pm. The public is invited to tour the museum, view new displays in the lobby of the Charles Bender Performing Arts Center, visit with local history organizations, and also participate in the City of Humble's Founder's Day celebration. There will also be a chance to participate in a Scavenger Hunt (see below).

Founder's Day celebrates the founding of the Humble community in 1886 by Pleasant Humble.

Scavenger Hunt: Teams can participate in a historical, community-wide scavenger at the Humble Museum's 50th anniversary celebration on September 12th.

  • Teams will need to be present and checked in at 11 am at the Scavenger Hunt table located in front of the museum.
  • Once checked in, there will be a safety/hunt rules and regulations meeting
  • Dress up in your Humble best, whether that be a wildcat spirit or as a roughneck, and follow the Founder's footsteps.
  • On the day of the Scavenger Hunt, all teams will receive a pamphlet with trivia riddles and a map.
  • The objective is to solve all 14 riddles, find each location, and document your findings with a unique and creative photo.
  • Points will be based on spirit and accuracy, not necessarily on time.
  • The hunt will end promptly at 2 pm. Hunters will need to arrive and check back in at the scavenger hunt station to present their proof of findings.
  • Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams.
  • To participate, your team must register no later than August 24th using our online registration form.
